App-tans
FANApp-tans are personifications of applications, not operating systems. OSC mixed them into OS-tan indexes because the comics did. This wiki keeps them in one folder so 'OS-tan' does not mean 'every program anyone ever drew as a girl.'
- Dr. Norton — Vault 2003.
- Miss McAfee — Vault 2004 roster (McAfee).
- Buster / Virus Buster — Trend Micro; OSC lists a male version under non-OS-kuns.
- Firefox-tan / Thunderbird-tan — later browser/mail gijinka, mentioned on Wikipedia's supporting list.
- Inori and Hikaru are CORP, not Futaba app-tans.
The scallion / NEGiES joke is an app joke worn by OS girls: the firewall is a vegetable they hold. That is how close the categories sit.
